Help me save the Pink & Black Bathroom

Please give me your suggestions on giving this retro project bathroom a suitable dress up.

Normally I would just take the #2 (10 lb sledge) to a bathroom that looks like this and the hit the reset button.

Pink is popular again right?

While dated everything is in to nice condition to destroy it.

But…while retro looking (dated) the tile on the floor and walls are in great shape. The tub (not shown here) is a dark grey so with pink, black, grey and white I am trying to come up with a pleasing color scheme for the walls and the old stained brown trim (which we will paint over).

Did you know that there is a movement to save pink bathrooms? Here is a link to a website with some interesting approaches.

1/4 Update: I Found these items available at Home Depot

  1. One bathroom mini-remodel I did had the same black border and paper holder. I took the black tile border down, prepared the wall and put up a carved marble border in a cream color. The toilet paper holder I sanded lightly with fine sandpaper and masked off the surrounding tile and spray painted with white appliance epoxy.i preped and painted the walls and ceiling, put in a new medicine cabinet and light fixture.
