Oklahoma Tornado Benefit Dinner in East Hampton on 09-20-2013

Many people came out tonight to support the victims of the Oklahoma Tornados.

As most of us know, a series of deadly tornados hit Moore OK and Oklahoma City in May of this year. The combined death toll between the two tornado events was over 40 with hundreds more serious hurt and many more displaced from their homes. Communities were decimated by the magnitude of damage and things are far from normal in the affected areas of Oklahoma for many people.

Barbara Moore, Past President of the East Hampton Rotary Club, organized a benefit dinner this Friday night in East Hampton Connecticut for the District 7980 Oklahoma Tornado Relief Fund. Tickets were just $12 per person for a delicious meal; that  supported the Oklahoma Relief Fund.

This dinner was made possible by the generous support and efforts of the following groups: The East Hampton Rotary Club, The Colchester Rotary Club, The East Hampton Lions Club, The East Hampton Village Lions Club, The East Hampton Anchor Lodge, The East Hampton American Legion and The East Hampton VFW, Friends of the Lake and the Yellow Ribbon committee and the East Hampton Senior Center.

Barbara Moore has been tirelessly working on Oklahoma Relief since May and has enlisted the financial support of many of the D7980 Rotary Clubs.
