The International Assembly is over and it was an amazing Rotary week-long event here in San Diego that most Rotarians would never have the pleasure to experience. The plenary sessions had great speakers while the breakout sessions had exceptional facilitators but the most valuable part of the time spent here was networking with fellow Zone 24/32 members and meeting people from all over the world.
The conference organizers were serving up the Rotary Kool-Aid in extra large doses from industrial sized fire hoses, which made it hard, not overdose on it.
Rotary has so many combined components, which include the avenues of service, areas of focus, core values and the 4-way test wrapped around membership, family of Rotary, The Rotary Foundation, Public Image and least another ½ dozen other areas that I’ve already forgotten about. Simply way too much to digest and I will spend the next week or so sorting it all out.
I look forward to heading home in a few hours from now.
