The Greenwich Rotary Club has grown it’s membership ranks by 4 members so far this year bringing their club size to just around 55.
After bouncing around for a little while, the club has finally landed at a top notch meeting facility; The Greenwich Hyatt Regency Hotel . The lunch at this club rivals the best in District, which is probably the New Canaan Club. The deserts beat almost all others except perhaps the chocolate cake at the Graduate Club in New Haven. Enough about the meals…..this isn’t a foodie column.
President Larry Larson and his board are focusing the majority of their attention in 3 key areas this year:
- Membership Growth and Meeting Vibrancy
- Improving Fundraising
- Foundation Involvement
Another area of interest for President Larry is to revive the dormant Interact Club at the High School.
Club Vibrancy has already picked up in the short time (4 weeks or so) that they have been meeting at The Greenwich Hyatt Regency as they meet in rooms with large windows that open to a beautiful atrium (some of the photos touch on it but don’t do it full justice). There is something to be said about putting a group of friendly Rotarians in a bright room with great food and excellent service…..hmmmm a formula for happiness perhaps?
It is worth doing battle on the I95 traffic to visit the Greenwich Rotary Club. They meet on Wednesday afternoons for lunch at The Greenwich Hyatt Regency Hotel @ 1800 E. Putnam Ave. Old Greenwich.
