The 80+ members of Trumbull Connecticut Rotary Club meet on Friday mornings at the Trumbull Library. This is an extremely active club that does a considerable amount of fundraisers and hands-on events to support the community and international causes that they believe in.
It is obvious that the members of this club enjoy each others’ company and look forward to coming these meetings each week to see each other. This is a fun club as anyone can witness by just sitting through ‘Happy Bucks’.

The Trumbull Rotary Club is a model of what Rotary International would call a ‘Vibrant Club’ as they have a clear leadership plan (they know who their next 3 President’s will be), they have a strong membership base, they have a unique mentoring program in place for their new members, they generously give to The Rotary Foundation, they maintain a public facing website that is easy to follow and are leveraging social media, several of their members maintain important district positions and they get the importance of fellowships.
Some of their recent efforts and projects include:
- providing scholarships for high school students living in Trumbull
- building pavilions at Twin Brooks Park & Lakewood Trumbull YMCA
- supporting local arts and high school programs
- distributing dictionaries to each Trumbull 3rd grader
- sponsoring senior programs such as our Senior Picnic
- sponsoring Trumbull & Bridgeport Read Aloud
- supporting an inner-city Weekly Reader program
- providing a 15 passenger van to Merton House
- providing major support for the Micklus Golf Training Center at Tashua Knolls Community Golf Course
- providing safe water filtration equipment at several communities in India
- coordinating CPR & AED training for community members
- working with UN, CDC, WHO, and the Gates Foundation to eliminate polio worldwide
- donate park benches along the Pequonnock River Trail
The Trumbull Rotary Club runs the following annual fundraisers:
- Wine & Beer Tasting – coming up on Oct 17, 2013
- Dodgeball Tournament – coming up on Nov 12, 2013
- Carnival
- Golf Tournament
- Sunset 5k Run
President Holly is a great leader that is having a blast leading her Club this year. A visiting Rotarian will feel nothing but good vibes when making up at the Trumbull Rotary Club on Friday mornings, which I highly recommend.
